The 4th Partner Meeting of the IBC project was organised by the Timis County Council in Timisoara, on 2-3 April.
The first day started with the evaluation of the first year of the project, which was held together with a representative of the Joint Secretariat.
The three specific objectives of the project were then discussed in broad terms, followed of course by a detailed description of the activities related to each objective.
The ARCTUR team held a digitisation workshop in relation to Activity 1.1, where partners had the opportunity to digitise objects related to their stories.
The digitisation was followed by a discussion on the next tasks for Activity 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 period 3 to 4 and the pilot testing process.
The rest of the day also included discussions on the Transnational Marketing Strategy, the Transferability Plan, participation in international fairs and the “Social Inclusion” Travel Challenge.
After the meeting, one part of the team went on a short walking tour.
The other part of the team went on a bike tour with a very well prepared guide, during which we heard very interesting information about the events of the day of the outbreak of the revolution and the days that followed. Leaving the bicycles behind, we continued the sightseeing tour accompanied by the guide, during which we saw more interesting and beautiful sites in Timisoara. After the tour, we were treated to a delicious dinner by the organisers.
The second day started with a visit to the Revolution Museum. Afterwards we returned to the meeting venue where we discussed the pilot testing for Action 2.1, where ISKRIVA divided the partners into groups per pilot site to discuss together the details of the testing.
The forthcoming tasks for Action 2.2 (The Voluntary Programmes) were also discussed, as well as the tasks related to the development of Action 2.3 (TICPM – Transnational Inclusive Cycle Product Model).
The second day was also full of interesting things to see and do. After the discussions, we had a sensational lunch and then we travelled to the town of Jimbolia.
Here we were again taken on a guided tour of the railway station, where we saw a 1938 railway vehicle and heard the story of how some of the local population were deported. We then visited a Press Museum where we had a look at newspapers from several decades. And at the end of the day, we talked to a representative of “Hambarul cu carte” (a converted barn for the local children’s reading group initiative) in Kisomlós, who is planning to develop thematic cycling routes in the area and we shared our experiences.
We had a wonderful and very meaningful couple of days in Timisoara!
Thank you very much to the organisers, we will continue soon! 😊
