The second working group meeting of the Danube GeoHeCo project in Hungary took place on 22 October 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. In his keynote speech, Viktor Horváth, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, presented the conditions of the already launched and also the planned grant schemes of Jedlik Ányos Energy Programme, aiming at supporting the energy modernization of the district heating systems and the small and medium-sized enterprises, the risk mitigation of drilling geothermal wells and the electricity storage. Then, representatives of CROST Nonprofit Ltd. presented the priorities and areas of intervention of the Danube GeoHeCo transnational action plan, to promote the use of shallow geothermal energy by formulation of regulatory, technical, educational, financing and awareness raising interventions. At the end of the event, a member of the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering of the University of Zagreb presented the decision support IT tool developed within the framework of the project.
