The 3rd partner meeting of the IBC project took place in Osijek on 5-6 November.
The first day was very rich in content, as all the activities of the project were covered.
The first topic was storytelling, where @ARCTUR gave a presentation to the partners on the digitalisation possibilities related to storytelling. Afterwards @Westpannon presented the current state of the activity and the way forward.
The next topic was “Inclusion of local products into cycling tourism”. In this context, a database needs to be built to assess the possibilities. A presentation was given by @Vulkanland on the related activities.
The activity “Adaptation of border cycling routes to the needs of the silver economy and the young generation” is well underway. The tasks already completed during the activity were presented by @Iskriva, followed by a presentation on the further work to be done.
The activity “Concept for a cross-generational, Volunteer Programme” is also ongoing and @MOA informed the partners about the progress made so far and the current situation.
The @Westpannon and @Trail Angels team gave an update on the “Transnational marketing strategy for cross-border cycle routes in the Danube region” activity and the tasks ahead.
The last activity discussed was “Improvement of the attractiveness of the Danube Region’s border cycling routes on an international level”. As in the previous ones, @Iskriva presented the current situation and upcoming tasks to the partners.
To close the day, @Westpannon, as lead partner, gave a comprehensive presentation on the current status of the project and what is to come.
After the meeting, the partners had the opportunity to personally participate in a real storytelling session in the old part of Osijek (Tvrđa), where everyone was given a lantern and we walked around the old town listening to the story. To end the day, the host partners @Green Osijek prepared a very cosy and fun dinner, which we thank them for in the name of the partnership! 😊
On the second day of the meeting, the partners met in the Zlatna Greda eco-centre, not far from Osijek, where the organiser @Green Osijek welcomed the partners and presented the draft guideline of the “Innovative models for local maintenance of cross-border cycle paths with a focus on social inclusion”.
Following the presentation, a representative from an inclusive home in Belisce (Inclusive House Zvono) shared his experiences with accessible and inclusive tourism.
Afterwards, @Westpannon presented the Explorer Bike Camps Hungary national initiative.
The day was closed with the presentation of the Danube Guides project and its integration with the Amazon of Europe Bike Trail Booking Centre by @Green Osijek.
During the day, the partners had the opportunity to tour the eco-centre and its surroundings, which are located in an extremely beautiful natural environment.
Before setting off, the partners were treated to a lunch by our hosts, again in an extremely beautiful location!
