Our Interreg Central Europe tourism project EuroVelo 13, which focuses on the development of the Iron Curtain route, is approaching its final phase.
Within the framework of the ICTr-CE project, the 7th Partner Meeting and SCOM took place in Gdańsk on 13-14 May, at the European Solidarity Centre located in the Gdańsk shipyard. The organisers (Miasto Gdańsk) enriched the meeting with a very colourful and interesting programme, where of course the partners discussed ongoing activities and presented the current state of play of activities and the way forward. Among others, the testing of the already completed packages and related tasks, the ICTr Alliance, the carbon footprint and IMS testing, as well as the ongoing and expected dissemination activities were discussed. Besides the discussions at the European Solidarity Centre, we had the opportunity to explore the history of Polish trade unions and the civil resistance movement.
In addition, we visited the World War II Museum, one of the most modern museums in Europe and one of the largest dedicated exhibitions in the world. A number of exhibits allow us to understand what contributed to the outbreak of the war, how the war was fought on the different fronts and how Europe and the world were divided after the end of the war. And one of the highlights of the programme was a bike ride to the Baltic Sea coast, where we could pedal out on super e-bikes offered by the city!
